Richard John Neuhaus on "The Radical Humanism of the Pro-Life Cause"
Thursday, February 23rd, 2006
I better blog this up before too much time passes. My laptop has unfortunately malfunctioned so I had to take notes on an old-fashioned spiral notebook, thus the time-to-live delay of this entry.
The lecture room was pretty small but was jam-packed, with some folks standing in the back. We were lucky enough to find two empty seats in the front row. I guess folks were shy.
If you like, you can listen to the lecture (19.5 MB, 1:23:24) thanks to an audio recording my girlfriend made.
Note: These are my notes from Richard John Neuhuas’s lecture at Harvard on February 21, 2006. Parts are paraphrased or directly quoted from his words.
There is nothing more humanistic than the proposition that all humans are created equal, in the image of God. That in and of itself is preposterous were it not true, that God became human. This is radical humanism.
