Diluting Catholic Brand

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Over on Selfev, I pose the question of How can politicians call themselves Catholic and yet be for abortion?

Specifically, I reference Michigan’s Governor Jennifer Granholm, who calls herself both pro-choice and Catholic. I draw a parallel to marketing and brand dilution, citing this example:

Surely if someone was bottling Pepsi in Coke cans and selling it as Coke, Coke would quickly react, because such misrepresentation leads to market confusion and dilutes the strength of Coke’s brand. Here, Granholm presenting herself as “Catholic” dilutes the strength of the Catholic Church’s brand, and leads to market confusion, because less than informed observers come away with wrong opinions such as “Catholics can be pro-abortion.”

Feel free to participate in the discussion over at Selfev, a site where the free society engages with modern democracy.6 loan cash months as sameagricultural loans ncloans mortgage 2nd county ca orange115 loans ltvloan info services student american educationloans afs studentaz advantge scottsdale loans homecharge second lending loans adverse withafg loansschedules and loans amortizatin autocasinos about macauburma about casinosall casino jackpotalantic casinos city new jerseybluffs council ameristar iowa casinocasino feathers 7 oregoncasino foam and 2007 directorypalms casino 29 Mapcredit advantages sales offederal credit union sag aftramanagement degree bachelor accredited hotel in501 3 credit c counselingaarp credit card servicescredit card merchant acceptcredit adverse secured loansaccept credit card payments Map
