Well, I was going to write a post about how the last week of classes is a bittersweet time of year, but instead it turned out I had to deal with a WordPress HTML vulnerability instead. Joy.

My new machine, named aivle (a word in my invented language which means silver) has been built. Aksa was flaky and having CPU cooling issues :-/

in the process of switching everything over to my linux box to get access to my data, i moved my video card from aksa to the linux box; this immediately made the linux box stop working — i couldn’t power it on; same problems as I had had with aksa earlier. I got out a spare video card (never throw anything away that might be useful one day, I say ;) and plugged it into aksa … and she works again!
A rather odd story, at that. I wonder what’s wrong with the video card that made it make systems unable to boot at all…
